There are hundreds of websites that offer free online educational video games for children, but how is a parent supposed to know which ones are safe and whether they’re actually educational? For a parent wanting to download  educational games that are  fun for their child, the answer is simple. Play the games. To find free online educational video games, a parent need only search with their favorite Internet search engine, then browse the results for something that looks both fun and educational. When they find a site that appears to be appropriate, they should try playing a few of the games. Do the look like fun? Do they appear to be teaching something? If so, let the child try the games. Another way to find download  educational games entertainment is to as the child’s teacher for recommendations. Teachers are constantly bombarded with advertisements on the latest free online educational video games and most will have some recommendation. Bring the topic up at a PTA meeting or at a class party to see what other parents have to say. There are a lot of free online educational video games out there. Finding one should be easy.

Re-Mission, Download a Free Online Educational Video Game

Most of the time when people think of free online educational arcade games, they think of games with simple elementary concepts like teaching basic math or helping a child to learn his ABC’s. However you can download educational games ,  that deal with much larger topics. Re-Mission is such a game.

Re-Mission is targeted toward children who have been or will be affected by cancer. Basically, it tries to take a little of the ‘scary’ out of cancer. It was developed by HopeLab to teach young cancer patients about the disease and to give them some understanding of how it can affect their health and how they can affect their recovery. The game is available online for free download and has versions in English, Spanish and French. Anyone having trouble downloading the game (it’s a little on the large size) can opt to be mailed a free CD. Re-Mission proves that not all educational games are simple.

    I downloaded this because I played the orignal years ago and just wanted a fun time waster. I just didn’t realize how much time I’d really end up spending on this, I just can’t stop playing! I’ve downloaded it on Windows 7 and haven’t had any problems running it.

    This is an excellent game and in some ways cooler than the original RCT I and II. You can manipulate so much more in this version that you were limited in with the last two versions. It is a 3D environment though, everything including the people and the mascots are 3D characters, which my kids didn’t particularly care for.
    Because of the 3D environment you can actually ride the rides, as one of your view points. Riding the coasters is almost too real, bring a paper bag, please.
